I started my apprenticeship with Chas Begg and Company ChCh in 1959 graduating in 1964.  I learnt the repair side of the business in Beggs workshop under the guidance of some of NZ’s finest tradesman including my tuning tutor Jim Scholes who though blind  took me under his wing and taught me to not look but listen, a skill I have kept these past 50 years something I am eternally grateful for. 

I have provided my services and technical support to numerous institutions including Christchurch Town Hall, Aotea Centre Auckland, Michael Fowler Centre Wellington and leading Arts and Educational Centres Nationwide. My technical work includes support for Nelson School of Music, Kings College Auckland, Marlborough Colleges, MacLeans College Auckland and many more. My contemporary clients include Sir Elton John, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, BB King to name just a few in my 50 plus years involvement in the industry.

I still am called on to advise and give technical support to a wide range of clients in both the south and north islands
